Program Overview
The Transitional Residency Program at John Peter Smith Hospital is ACGME accredited and accepts twelve residents each year. The program is based at John Peter Smith Hospital, the 459 bed public hospital in Fort Worth, Texas. This is a 12-month program designed to provide the resident with a broad internship prior to entering specialties such as Anesthesia, Radiology, Ophthalmology, Emergency Medicine, Physical Medicine/Rehabilitation, Dermatology, Neurology or Pathology.
Rotations include:
- 2 Months Surgery
- 2 Months ER
- 1 Month Selective (OB, Orthopedics, Family Practice or Emergency Medicine)
- 2 Months Electives
- 2 Months Internal Medicine
- 2 Months Pediatrics
- 1 Month Family Medicine
